If you are looking for something stylish yet packs a punch in terms of function, then go for the AV Labs 1.5 inch Digital Photo Frame. One look at this device and you'll notice the classy design (smooth lines, neutral, classic colors) but still puts the photos as its focus. It comes with a key chain and lanyard to let you decide how do you want to lug it around. One thing's for sure, though: if you're impressed with merely the way it looks, then be prepared for what it can do. It caught me by surprise, too.
Features
For starters, its strong 8 MB memory lets you store up to 80 full-color photos. Now I don't know about you, but that already seems more than enough for one digital photo frame. In terms of display or how you wish to show your pictures, it will give you two options, in either single mode or slide mode.
On the other hand, its 1.5-inch LCD may not be the best thing in the world for some, as it is not really advisable for people whose eyes aren't what they're used to, the elderly for instance, but don't be misled. The AV Labs 1.5 inch Digital Photo Frame more than makes up for it, with its clear display and a host of other things that gives it power despite the size. On the other hand, it was intended to be a compact key chain so we really shouldn't expect it to be big in the first place.
Options
If I can only pick one thing I like about this photo frame, it's this: that it gives you option after option and will prove to be mostly compatible with just about every need you may have. For one, unlike the photo frames in the same line in terms of size, it doesn't have to be lugged around as a key chain. It can stand alone, you can just put it in your bag, or even put it in your desk. Take whatever works for you.
In terms of function, by downloading pictures directly from the computer (it comes with USB cable), you can start sharing them. Setting it up for the first is easy, believe me, and operating it is a breeze. It is compatible with both Macs and PC's so that's not something you need to bother yourself with. Moreover, it supports a wide array of file types to make it more convenient for you: JPEG, BMP, GIF, and TIF.
The Lithium battery makes sure that you're interrupted when in the middle of a photo-sharing frenzy with friends. The long battery life is easily understandable, however, as this photo frame clearly doesn't scrimp on features. While one look at its chic exterior may have impressed my friends, using it after a while certainly impressed me.
As with other bigger photo frames, this one doesn't have a remote control and it can't play videos, like its more advanced counterparts can.
